Early Years Book Club

The aims of the Book Club are to:

  • Extend EYFS teachers’ knowledge of high quality text

  • Keep up to date with the latest published quality texts for EYFS

  • Meet with colleagues to discuss ways in which a quality text could be used in your setting

  • Receive a copy of each text, ready to use with your children. The books will cover a range of genres and be recently published and of high quality.

Informal discussion will focus on the quality of language used, engaging and interesting ways in which the books have been set out, the interplay between text and illustration and themes and concepts presented. Each subsequent session will be an opportunity for teachers to share ways in which the texts have been used and the responses they have had from their children.

All attendees will receive a total of 5 quality texts throughout the year, appropriate for use in FS1 and FS2.

Comments from Book Club Members;

“Brilliant! Loved having quality texts.”

“There were lots of ideas to try out in different areas of literacy.”

COST: £100 per person for 5 sessions. £80 for extra person(s) from same school.
