Non-verbal Storytelling

DESCRIPTION:

This session will cover story making with materials, non-verbal storytelling and story square, with a particular focus on speech and language development looking at the potential for these approaches to make impact in that area. Non-verabl storytelling involves telling a story without using words. 

In this session participants will try animating story, bringing the 'story alive' using simple everyday materials and the most basic of performance/ puppetry skills. As well as having a go, there will be chance to hear about the development of the technique and to discuss the impact working non-verbally can make on engagement with story, language development, well being and creativity.
