Description:  

This essential follow up to the first theoretical session entitled the Legal Briefing on the use of force, equips participants with the necessary physical skills to intervene where it's deemed necessary to prevent harm.

The practical course covers:

  1. Holding strategies
  2. Escorting techniques to allow the safe removal of pupils from classrooms for example
  3. Breakaway and disengagement techniques including strategies for reducing the associated risks of biting and hair pulling

This session places a clear emphasis on avoidance and gives staff an overview of their rights and responsibilities in relation to their duty of care, both to themselves and to the pupils.
