Description:    The Makaton taster is designed to raise awareness of Makaton and to help people understand what Makaton is, who uses it, and how they can learn it. It is not a full Makaton training session, it is an introduction.

Key Aims: 

By the end of the taster participants should be able to:

  • Describe the purpose and benefits of using Makaton
  • Use 20 concepts in symbol and sign from the Makaton core vocabulary
  • Use a further 10 concepts in symbol and sign relevant to the early years setting
